Thompsons Plant Hire is pleased to offers the following products for sale form our depot in Flimby.

Aggregates

The company supplies a range of aggregates for both building and decorative garden purposes including:

• Type one Sub-base – suitable for foundations and for laying as a base before pouring concrete.
• Chippings 20 & 14mm – These are generally used for driveways and as decoration on top of flowerbeds. Gray/Blue Lime Stone chippings are always in stock; other varieties are available on request.
• Stone Dust – Used as a bed for laying brick sets on driveways and patio flags.

Bark

Bark chips are excellent for landscaping, water retention and weed control. The bark chips help to protect your plants roots from drought, heat and cold, providing a natural, recyclable barrier that insulate plant roots from the external conditions. It allows water to drain through from above while slowing evaporation from below, keeping the soil moist. It also restricts the growth of weeds, by preventing light from reaching weed seeds so they don't germinate.

Organic Compost

Thompsons high quality organic compost is rich in nutrients and benefits gardens in a number of different ways. As a conditioner helping to break up heavy soil, as a fertilizer it provides vital nutrients for plant growth and as a natural pesticide it cuts down on the use of chemicals.

Topsoil

Our quality-graded topsoil is suitable for all general outdoor use and will produce excellent results in various planting applications including areas for laying grass or in plant and vegetable beds. Our topsoil has been graded by passing it through our modern screening equipment, which removes all large stones and other unwanted material.

Public Weighbridge

Thompsons Plant Hire has a weighbridge located at their depot in Flimby that they are pleased to make available for public use during the depot operating hours.
