Established in 1994, Thompsons Plant Hire Ltd. is a West Cumbrian
company that carries out a wide variety of plant hire and road haulage
using our heavy plant machinery and articulated lorries.

Plant machines are hired out complete with our experienced CITB,
PTS & EPIC trained operators, who may also be hired to drive
our customer's own equipment.
One of our 360° excavators is regularly in use at the Port of Workington
where we unload timber boats from Scotland on behalf of Iggesund Paperboard.
We then haul the timber from the port to the mill.
We also transport the paper by-products such as bark for processing,
waste paper & sawdust to farmers for animal bedding.
We have recently completed a contract for the capping & landscaping of contaminated mounds as part of he refurbishment of the Army Foundation College at Harrogate.
Our latest acquisitions are a Jenz AZ 65 Shredder & a Powerscreen
620 trommel, which are taking us on a new venture into the world
of recycling. The Jenz being used for shredding bark and green waste,
it will also process pallets and demolish wood.
